Ludovic Roth, designer

profile

Ludovic Roth is a French designer and interior architect whose practice spans nearly two decades across product design, spatial design, and artistic creation. A graduate of École Bleue (a leading French institution for applied arts and design), his approach is defined by a fluid dialogue between industrial precision, high-end craftsmanship, and conceptual storytelling.

Throughout his career, Roth has worked across a wide range of sectors - from fine watchmaking to sports equipment, from residential and hospitality interiors to scenography and collectible lighting. This multidisciplinary experience informs a consistent design language, where material, meaning, and function converge with clarity and intention.

Alongside his commercial work, he also develops an artistic practice focused on the sensory relationships between the body, space, and perception. His installations and sculptural pieces invite physical engagement and offer nuanced explorations of vision, movement, and tactility.

Recognition

Roth’s work has been acknowledged by major cultural institutions, including the Mobilier National, France’s historic state furniture collection (founded by King Henry IV in 1604), and now a key patron of contemporary design. In 2023, his exceptional leather-clad suspension light Cosse was acquired into its permanent collection.

He is also a recipient of Le French Design 100, a distinction awarded under the patronage of the French President at the Élysée Palace, celebrating French designers with international impact.Roth continues to collaborate with design galleries, brands, private clients, and public institutions in France and internationally, producing projects that move seamlessly between imagination and execution.

Studio Practice

After formative collaborations with world-renowned designers such as Mathieu Lehanneur and Fabrice Berrux, Ludovic Roth co-founded ARRO Studio, through which he led design initiatives in Europe, Asia, and North America.

In 2021, he established his independent studio to further articulate his distinctive creative voice: rooted in formal experimentation, evolving technical mastery, and an ongoing curiosity for new typologies and applications. His work merges advanced industrial processes with exceptional artisanal techniques, seeking balance between innovation and use, object and environment, emotion and function. Roth champions a rigorous, purposeful design ethic -at times deliberately unexpected- yet always grounded in clarity of intent and coherence of execution.
