ORDRE & CHAOS

The intervention aims to define a volume within a specific space using only timber battens.
The chaotic accumulation of the timber battens defines a random structure which is precisely cut in its centre to create the path, central element of the installation. The empty path within the structure is represented by a straight volume which gives the sensation that it was pushed out from the random structure. The idea was to confronts the viewer to the notion of duality between the chaotic element, defined by the material, and the order, defined by human intervention.
The installation was part of the temporary exhibition « 15 CLASSES » in Saint Jean de Luz.
