Created in 2015, shortly after the Charlie Hebdo attacks, Kalashnikov is a symbolic response to barbarity — a gesture of resistance through image-making.
The weapon is carefully composed from pencils and markers — instruments of creativity — forming a precise and disarming trompe-l’œil. By reimagining a tool of destruction through the lens of creation, the piece asserts a quiet but powerful stance: to create is to resist.
